Fulham

biography

FULHAM, designed by Laura Lee Fulham, features hand-made earrings, necklaces and bracelets that meld vintage materials such as crystal findings, chain, fabric and baubles with modern elements.

Laura Lee's mission is to create affordable, premium, original, fashion-forward jewellery that is infused with glamour and sophistication. Each piece is hand-made and with a definitive attention to detail which speaks of Laura Lee's commitment to the highest standards of quality.

Laura Lee was first introduced to jewellery by her grandmother, a true fashionista. "Nanny", as she was fondly called by her grandchildren, had custom-made outfits comprised of hand-sewn dresses with matching heels and hats.

Both Laura Lee and her sister would revel in a trip to grandmother's apartment so that they could lock themselves in her bedroom and play dress up for hours. "The best part of her room was drawer after drawer of costume jewellery," recalls Laura Lee. "She had a necklace, earring, broach in every colour of the rainbow - she even had jewellery to customise her shoes to match an outfit."

You can't be surrounded with so many baubles and baling and it not have an affect on you. Inspired by her surroundings, Laura Lee decided to pursue a career in fashion marketing at Ryerson University in Toronto. Upon graduation, she found herself as an assistant stylist at one of Canada's leading women's magazines. Exposed to archives of magazines from the 1960s, Laura Lee found a new love for jewellery from the decade by designers from Tony Duquette to Kenneth Jay Lane. She decided to turn her love for baubles into a business and launched FULHAM.

Featured in top magazines such as InStyle, Lucky and Cosmopolitan and on the CW's Gossip Girl, FULHAM pieces can be worn by anyone-from the most chic fashionista to the laid-back, understated girl-about-town. Inspired by her grandmother's costume jewellery collection, Laura Lee designs for the girl who wants to make a statement, and knows what to wear to best reflect her personality.
